[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a shot that was taken on my Pentax K1000 with 35mm film and later scanned to computer and uploaded to TL The quality is not digital and the scanner had left a textured finish on the shot which I think looks a little like it has been printed on linen or canvas but is not without its merits. Scarborough was fairly close to us when we lived in Yorkshire and was a nice place to spend the day. Consequently I think back with nostalgia. This shot was taken on an early summer evening.

Hi David, I quite like the grainy look and texture of this ... it looks like a greeting card or a postcard.
Great view with the colorful fishing boats in the foreground and the rows of houses in the back.
Nice job
Trudy

As nostlagic freak this kind of quality scans are welcome David, nice old postcards colors and a fine vieuw on the harbour.
We must not forget, that our digital history
is only a fraction.

Hi David,
A nice canvas treatment to this capture!
Beautiful colors and good focusing....it seems more like a painting than a photograph!
A lovely composition which suits well for a postcard!
Lighting is marvelous!
A nice presentation!
Well done,

Francis Xavier

nice pov David good filling of the frame good colours and lighting tfs
regards bryan

Hello David,

I actually thought that you had used the textured finish in the filter options. It does appear like a silken print.
Lovely composition with a diagonal aspect and horizontal layers of different textures.
The light and reflections are an important part of the shot.

There is a light tilt to the horizon but it does not interfere with the overall enjoymment.

Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hi David,
Fine presentation of this harbour even if the quality of this old shot is not the best, but its texture is still interesting showing the time... Colours are excellent, composition is fine with these simple white borders. TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

This does look like a beautiful painting to me, I like the textured finish. A beautiful and colorful place. TFS

Bonjour David,

Jolie composition très haute en couleurs bien vives avec tous ces petits bateaux formant une haie d'honneur le long du chenal!!!
Amitiés
odile

Hey David, nice treatment you got from your scanned photograph , very much like a painting on a canvas indeed , i like the effect , i find the houses in a neat row appearing like small Lego miniatures , he he , i have this impression, anyway i certainly enjoy the view of this fishing harbor as it seems so picturesque , i can imagine the place 'live ' to be just that: a lively little place fun to walk around , tfs ,
Carol
