[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After yesterday's posting, I gather a lot of you were curious as to the work-flow involved in the post processing I had done. Firstly, I must stress to you all that this is purely an experimental process - the colours can and will change dramatically the more you play, (especially when altering saturation and even more so when you drasticaaly alter hue at the same time), this image started out as a normal sunset, changed to a vibrant lime green, and ended up this mauve/purple/lilac colour.
Using Adobe Photoshop Elements 4, the work-flow is as follows.
Hue + 84
Saturation + 60
Input levels 15/0.85/240
Darken highlights by 65%
Increase contrast + 25 and lightness + 16
Hue - 180
(I then cropped the image)
Remove noise (Neat Image)
Resize to 800 x 600
Remove noise again
Adjust file size to < 200kb
Remove noise again
Adjust file size to < 200kb
Post image

Time taken to do this was less than 15 minutes.

The reason I have removed the noise 3 times is every time you alter something drastically, you create noise. Ihope that for those of you who do not use the same software as I do, that you will be able to customize this process to suit yourself - it's not an exact science - it's experimental!
This image started as a sunset over the causeway on Lindisfarne click here to view the original posting on TE.
This isn't about quality or points, it's about the process. Have fun playing with it, and if you come up with any useful tips, please post them back.

It change a lot from the original. It give a nocturnal mood that i enjoy! It's relax a lot! The reflection on water pratically look like a boreal aurora!
