[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taking shots at the Autocross event over the weekend at Causey Park, Northumberland I had a bit of experimentation. I took a lot of pictures over the weekend so I knew some would be salvageable if I played around with the settings and this is one I quite like.

The normal sports mode on the camera was giving me a Time Value (TV) of between 1000 to 1200 in those light conditions, freezing the action pin sharp, I lowered the speed to 50 and tried some serious panning with the vehicles as they sped past...hope you like the results.

PP work - decreased brightness -8, increased saturation +15, sharpened and resized for TL.

Cheers

Bri

Brian this excellent work real sense of speed captured here love how you got the timing right with the wheel of the ground great shot

I like the result Brian, panning at its best, also one i like , very well executed in my view , of course one needs to experiment different shutter speeds but 1/ 50s is best for this type of shots , i ought to try this one day as it makes for interesting photos , this one included!
Thanks for sharing ,
Carol

Hello Brian
A very decent Pan shot, nicely captured.
Good use of active space.
I am not sure about using f/29 only :)

Hi Bri,

I like the narrow dof the bg looks very blurred giving the impression of speed so your panning was perfect imho. Great colours nice sharp details and very good pov well done.

Jon

Hi Brian,

this is indeed a wonderful shot and i got to realise the effort behind it when i read the thread discussion you had with KBE.

I love action shots like this but have never found the courage to try something similar as i m just a beginner. What i did do was add a motion blur in PS later on in one of my shots to create the panning effect but i guess thats cheating and does not count.

I really like how the subject is sharply focused and the overall exposure is great too.

great work mate!

simply a good panning
jc

Salut Brian.
Belle effet de vitesse parfaitement contrôlé grâce à un bon choix d’exposition.
Couleurs et contrastes sont aussi parfaits,
Bonne journée.

You've done a great job panning here, this is something I am trying to learn but must say I'm not having great results so far. I love the action!!! Good detail. TFS

Bonjour Brian

Quelle maitrise !
Une superbe netteté quoique tous les éléments nous indique la vitesse de ce véhicule.
Amicalement
