Just experimenting in the garden early July when I saw this hoverfly.

Cut in, sharpened and applied frame.

Hope you like it.

Hi Brian,
Excellent sharp macro, although the yellow frame is a bit annoying in my opinion. Nonetheless awonderful well composed image of this hoverfly and white flower. The brownish background enhances the picture.

Olá Brian,
Very good capture of this nice scene. Sharpness reasonable and good on the hoverfly, good colors and contrasting BG. I have some doubt on the yellow frame, very disturbing IMHO.
Best wishes,
Raimundo

Hi Bri,

This is an exceptionally good shot IMHO the fly looks as if he is picking the flowers that are the best to investigate. The framing really sets this of although I would have cloned the small leaf the protrudes on the mid right of shot it in no way spoils it. As usual good colours sharp details great dof and pov well done.

Regards
Jon

Hi Bri,

Nothing gets the attention of the TL members like a flower with a bug on it. I've not yet gotten a good one...almost today. A bee chased a butterfly away from the bird feeder.
The DOF is awesome. Help me please and let me know what mm and distance you were at when capturing this shot.

The framing is very creative, and very well done.

Hi Brian,
Super macro ! with, indeed, not so nice yellow frame. Which is personal taste of course.
Great how you managed to put the yellow before and behind the subject.
Beautiful colors and details. Good job.

Hello Brian,
Wonderful seen and presentation to look class out. Your trip must have been beautiful, shows us your picture with the beautiful colors original photo in an unbelievable sharpness.Excellent sharp macro.

Hello Brian,

The hoverfly is sharply captured giving fine details of its wings and its striped body. I love to see how its legs straddle the petals! The reflected light on its thorax shows its hard texture whilst its colours are nicely saturated.
Like Hans, I don't really see the purpose of the inside frame although a simple b/w border, to my mind, would have been fitting.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Ciao Brian

The composition is balanced and show the
subject(s) in the best possible way...
Close-up work is skilfully done, with sharp fine details in insect and flower, attractive colours too!
Excellent light, good perspective and fantastic seen.
