[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Looking back tidying up files I came across this from our walk to the Scottish border high in the Cheviot hills of North Northumberland. This view is from Windy Guile looking north west towards Jedbugh. Windy Guile is aptly named as it was a warm, still day in the valley but once up on the ridge it was blowing a hooligan!

3 shots +1, 0 and -1 merged and tone mapped, saved down and selected areas treated for hue and contrast, sharpened and resized for TL.

Hope you like it

Bri

Hi Brian,
What a lovely painting-like presentation of this landscape.
Fabulous mood here with this herd of sheep grazing!
Nice color tones on the hills and a dramatic sky!
Subtle lighting and a very neat presentation!
PP work is just superb!
Best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi Bri,

This is an amazing view. It almost doesn't look real. I purchased a photo for the cover of a book that I'm writing from a guy on TE. This photo reminds me of it.

You do a great job of merging these photos. I just can't do this yet. I'm impressed.

TFS,
Dennis

Hey Bri,

Let me start out by saying that I'm not a fan of HDR in general, so take what I say appropriately.

Looking at your photo here, I fail to see the rationale behind the HDR processing. It looks like you had pretty even lighting, without too many dark shadows. Your subject matter wasn't high contrast, save the sheeps' faces, but they are really too small to worry about here. Why the HDR?

Again, I'm not a fan of the style, so I hope that wasn't the reason behind the decision. It looks like you had a great shot with the meandering valley, the stormy skies, and the sheep in the foreground. I'd love to see one of the original exposures processed as a workshop.

Great eye and wonderful composition let down by over processing.

Truly, though, thanks for sharing. I may not agree, but I can still appreciate.
