[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken from the road after the small village of Alwynton, Northumberland heading along the road to the Cheviot Hills. It was a dull overcast day but the sky was lifeless.

I cut in another sky from a different image with the same type of viewpoint and colour by selecting the old sky and cutting it out, taking the sky from the second picture and pasting it over the original. I then turned the pasted sky to opaque and rubbed out the bits I did not need giving a close line between horizon and sky. I then merged layers and cloned any parts of the land/sky that you could see a join. Finally I used the smudge tool on any over sharp joins to blend, altered contrast and brightness with curves, sharpened and resized for TL.

I think it was worth it, I hope you like it.

Hi Brian,
Awesome view! Such lush greenery and rolling hills, looks like a peaceful place to get away and gather your thoughts. Can almost smell the country air from here :). You've done a good job to replace the sky, wouldn't have known if it hadn't have been for your note. Well done.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Bri,
It was worth it, grand landscape well caught. You get to go two ways,1 follow the river or 2 follow the road, both keep you in the scene.Love those greens.

Cheers

Ron

Hey, Brian, just cruisin' the gallery and saw this. I agree with Scott - that is one awesome view and if your note hadn't said so, I'd have never known you did that with the sky - GREAT PP work. Wonderful wide view, rich natural color, and beautifully composed. I did notice a bit of softness to the trees and buildings so I did a small WS. Hope you don't mind. That's a mad good shot! Many thanks and kindest wishes,
Shlly

This beautiful Brian! Love the patchwork effect the land has here! This has some really nice warm colors in it. Your sky is REALLY well, considering that cloud cover often gives lots of glare! Good job!

Hi Brian,
Wow, what a splendid scenery !
Great PP job in replacing the sky, but ... it shows a strange exposure now. The land is much light, but the sky is hiding the sun, so, where is the light comming from? But I like the end result, which is beautiful.

I feel like I'm standing on a hilltop looking at this scene. The gray clouds are fantastic - good PP work. I'm not sure about the blue on the horizon though. Not sure it looks natural with the gray sky, but I could be wrong. I'm probably thinking about it too much. :)

Bonjour Brian.
Très belles couleurs douce pour représenter ce beau paysage. La couverture nuageuse est parfaite est donne une tristesse de saison a cette belle photo.
Bonne journée.

Ciao Brian

Undoubtedly, it is a nice postcard of this place!
I like to see a village stuck in the middle of this
green vegetation and full of life. A beautiful scene!
You show us again your perfect quality of your picture.
Absolutely fantastic, nice composition.
