[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
3rd of a series of images taken of reflections in one of the canals in Nottingham.

I often walk along the canal - it's peaceful and picturesque. I've tried taking images of the reflections during dull days but the images come out looking murky - more like the true colour of the muddy water. On sunny days, winter or summer, the reflections are transformed.

The tendency would be to assume that you focus on a nice reflection and take a shot. The trick is to take the shot when disturbance is at its minimum. This way you get a nice soft curving to the building - a bit Guadi-esque possibly (with a lot of imagination). When the water has been agitated - by a boat or the movement by pond life, the images are less distinct.

Hi there!
What a facinating idea... Normally people take pics of the building itself and its reflection, but this is genius.
Nice colours and framing too.
Well done and TFS!

Hi Celina,

Great piece of art. Interesting effect with reflection on the water, nice colours. Well done & TFS :]

Hello Celina,
A very effective and compelling reflection; clear colors and interesting patterns.
All the best,
karen

Hello Celina,

Comparing all 4 photographs in the series, I do like this one as well! Very nice movement of the water and nice how it plays with the reflection of the building. I also saw the 'Help! Fire!' photograph and the depth of the blue tones. But it's way too noisy. Well, just my feeling ;-).
Nice series!

Greetings,
Dennis

Hi Celina,
another beautiful use of water reflections. Your photos are beautiful - pity you upload them so rarely... :-) tfs
