I assume by the use of a tripod you set the camera up to take this type of photograph. I do a lot of music photographs and find the best ones are taken using the available light depending on the colour of the lights or a small amount of fill in flash.

I think this is a good picture considering the camera you used, as high quality equipment is needed for consistent results.
