[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello everyone, these two ducks were sat side by side on the path that we were walking on,presumably enjoying the warmth of the tarmac.
I am not sure what breed of duck they are, or even whether they are Mr.and Mrs.but they sat so contentedly I just wanted a picture.
The lake where they swim is just off shot.
If anyone knows the breed I would be pleased to know.

Thanks for your visit.
I will be away for a short time, but I will catch up on my return.

Hi Jean,
Lovely sharp capture. They look most happy and relaxed. Ilike the way the contast of the grey path and green grass run at a diagonal. Well done

Duck is the name.
Donald Duck, right?
Sure the one in front, with the naked head is the lady.
Ducks (and many others) are not that nice, while having sex.
Still a nice couple they are, right ?
Well captured, Jean.

Hello, Jean.

A lovely shot, very well taken. Good exposure, very clear and sharp and excellent colours.

I think they look a bit too happy to be Mr. & Mrs. - more likely just good friends!

Best Wishes,

John.

I think Mrs Duck is having a bad hair day :-).
Excellent capture.
Good sharpness and details.

Jean,
Nice capture of these peaceful ducks. Very good clarity in this shot.

Kevin

Hello Jean,

To start at the background and come forwards:

A fine strong diagonal of the thin kerbstone, cutting the image exactly into the two - half tarmac - half grass.

The two ducks sit neatly on this line - both their beaks parallel to this diagonal. That little tufty dandelion head at the bottom left punctuates the composition nicely too.

Crisp and sharp throughout.

As to the breed - I think they are cross-bred - probably Mallard X Aylesbury.

In the mating season there is usually a surfeit of Mallard drakes, and they will mate with anything that comes within their range!

Regards,

Peter.

HI Jean
They are both very lovely with unsual colors.
I checked my books and the only one that comes close to the black headed one is an eider, but being from different parts of the world you have different species, so hopefully someone can help you out better than I can.
The composition, the sharpness is really great and I am surprised they did not panic and fly away.
Great shot
