[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi Everyone. After my last three postings where I tried to recreate the infrared effect in CS3 I thought it was time to take some infrared photographs. I dug out my old F65 film camera, got a roll of Ilford SFX ASA 200 film, not a true infrared film but an extended red spectrum film, and a Cokin A 007 filter, went out and fired away. After reading so much contradictory information on the internet about infrared photography I decided to find my own way. Every shot I took I made a note of the settings. Then waited for the film to come back from being developed. The best results I got were from f16/22 with correct or up to +2 exposure. This image is from a negative scan, cropped, framed and reduced for T.L. Thanks for looking.

I know nothing about infrared experiments, but it seems your experiment was a success. Is this shot taken by night ?

Nice work Philip!
This looks pretty much like infrared to me.
I wondered what a slight increase in contrast and a tint
woudl look like so i uploaded a workshop photo.

Hi Philip,

I have absolutely no idea on anything about IR photography other than the little scraps of information I've read somewhere. In this photo, I would assume it is taken in the dead of night with very minimal light. If it is so, then I would say that your experimentation with IR photography has brought you a very positive result. Although it is in mono-colour, the image is very recognisable as a path through a park(forest?) with trees on either side and bushes firther to the side. Good photo.

I like your infrared images. Between you and Vincent (machinelove) I am getting more intrigued with infrared in general. This one is pleasantly quiet and lacey, a gentle scene that invites the viewer in to experience the calm beauty. Great compo and POV/perspective, also. Well done:)
