St Chads Church

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hi Everyone. An infrared shot of St Chads Church, Lichfield. This is a link to St Chads website The Church has a history dating back to the 1200's.
Continuing my experiments with infrared photography, I have now started to develop my own films. Not the complicated process I thought it would be at all. It cost me around £40 for the equipment and chemicals, mostly from E Bay. The process of developing I learned from videos on You Tube. From You Tube, search "35mm black and white developing",and you will find lots of information there.
The shot was taken at F22+2 stops. No P.P. apart from Crop, Reduce and Frame for T.L.
Thanks for looking. Regards Phil. |

I love the compo and POV. I do like also the grain, the overall effect is mystic and dreaming, maybe also cause of the lack of contrast or lack of the "pure black" among the grey tones of the shot.

I like the IR and the real film look here, adding atmosphere to the scene that works well with the subject. I'm not sure about leaving the sliver of tree on the left edge, but it does suggest more landscape context. And why do I keep expecting to see a ghost?!:))) Good shot and well handled.
