Hi Everyone. The Third of my experimental HDR shots taken at Lichfield Cathedral. clicky to the website here.

I'm still not convinced of the merits of HDR images. At the same time of solving the problems of under/over exposure in a shot with a wide range of light intensity to me the images look over busy, to much information. Perhaps a better answer is use of a light meter to ensure the camera is at optimum settings before taking the exposure?

Beautiful shot
a good pp in HDR
they are so many details, drawings in the architecture
that I get lost with the vision!
The roof of this Cathedral seems a mirror, he doesn't have end!

The HDR approach here really has brought out all of the architectural details - I can understand your comment about looking over busy. I like the colouring and the odd, bright gold window in the top right. Having seen your shots I do think that HDR looks better on architecture like this than on the standard landscape, so thanks for opening my eyes to a new possible technique to use.

Excellent view of architectural features and details that make cathedrals so impressive. I like the subtle color tones and lighting, and the curiosity of the more brightly lit arch in the upper right area. HDR seems to evoke interesting love-hate reactions, for some reason, but I see it as simply another option that the photographer can choose to work with. In this case, you have certainly not gone overboard and the results look appealing. Well done:)

You have captured the beauty of the architecture and the colour of the stone very well.The eye is led beautifully to the window. Good Job
