Hi Phil, excellent work...the IR film is very good, I have been using the Ilford SFX... but I reckon you are right about the Kodak...did you use a filter as well?... (wratten or other type)These images are very ethereal in the quality... fine work... regards h

Hi Phil
I have never really been in to infrared shots - I don't "get" them, I guess - but recently saw a shot that combined natural light with IR (maybe it would have to be an IR "effect" in that case?) and it did a wonderful job of lifting shadows.
I can certainly see where it has its merits - I don't know if a church is the right subject, as the IR hasn't lifted it out of darkness in any way? But then maybe I'm misunderstanding the purpose of IR, I'm a total beginner in that area!
Still - kudos for getting out there with equipment that most of us would have no idea about.

dear Philip,
in this picture, I abmire the shining trees contrasted with the dark sky and the building.
leaves look more shining in infrared ray than in visible ray. this effect is like the shot in snowy view...trees look with silver frost.
I feel I were another Alice in infrared-land.
thank you,
Akihisa

This IR image is quite amazing and challenges the perception. On one hand it looks like a snow scene, on the other it seems like a negative. I like the light-to-dark depth here, drawing the eye toward the gray details of the church highlighted along the edges. Fascinating and beautiful.

Classic IR style shot - the white of the trees contrasts perfectly with the darkness of the stone church. How long an exposure did you use to get this shot?
Thanks for sharing
