Approaching Birmingham

On my way to Sweety, flying in a KLM Boeing 737-406 (PH-BDX) from Amsterdam to Birmingham, the British landscape unveiled before my eyes. Nice fluffy clouds surrounded the aircraft and a patchwork shaped landscape became visible. Although phothographing through a (passengers) aircraft window is a "disaster" [you are looking through three layers of hardened acryl] I gave it a view tries. This is one of them, a patchy landcape, the clouds, the approach....

Regarding brightness not perfect, but I liked the view. Let me know how to improve (PP-work or different) this immage.

Taking into account the window, the British weather and your equipment :-), this is a good airplane shot. I am so glad it is not just another cloudscape and that you can see the countryside below - i love that patchwork layout, like a multi-coloured quilt. I miss scenery like that. As to how to imrove...? dunno, you need someone better at pp work than me to help you there.

Wooo... that's awesome, I love to be able to captured a view like that Hans... breathe taking, so beautiful, I know about how "clean" the aircraft windows can be, but this is really nice... well captured my dear, thanks for sharing

Cheers,
sweety

Good morning Hans

PP work?.. I dont think it needs it.. this image is taken through an aircraft window and as such looks excactly as it did. Just one thing I do hope you waved as you flew over my house as I am only 50 mins drive from Birmingham airport :-)

Nice cloud formations and the typical English mosaic style countryside.

TFS regards Helen

SArah

Lovely open landscape with multi colors of the field . . I don't think you need PP work, and looks strange if it is done . . I love the composition of the clouds formation at the far end . . I did try capturing from the plane, but not successfull . . I am waiting for clearer weather to join a friend who will fly a helicopter . .

Hi, Baron:),
Intresting patchwork of colours in the gloom. Everything seems as the French say, "soigne"
Nice

Hi Hans
At first I thought, around it is China. And it is England this way is looking out of the flight of a bird. Very nice photograph.

Hi Hans,
what a wonderful view! The British landscape unveiled before my eyes too :) Thanks for sharing with us this beauty!

Have a lovely day!

Well Hans, that's the best you can get through a window, unless you hire a private plane with an open cockpit (now here is a thought!). Good take on the patchwork quilt landscape - clouds, and there seems to be a bit of haze also aside from the windowpane.
Cheers
Otto

Hi Hans,
Excellent capture tHrough a passenger window. I had some experiences not as good. Great POV with the patchy landscape and the clouds. Nice colors. TFS

Ciao Marco

Good morning Hans,
Beautiful landscape and clouds! I just love those patterns formed by the different types of vegetation and soil of the individual properties. As you say, the view is so beautiful, it's always worth the while to post even if we're not entirely satisfied although I see no reason for that feeling for this photo: it's perfect!
TFS
Regards,
Lurdes

PS: Thank you very much for your WS on my "Down in the Valley"; it's fantastic. I never would have achieved it. Normally, when I try to correct a photo which has clouds, my attempts always interfere with their beauty and I'd rather either eliminate the photo and wait for other opportunities or, such as in this case, post anyway because clouds of that dimension aren't "hanging around" every day!

Hi Hans, missed this one..It looks a pretty good shot to me, taken from a plane, and especially with the low cloud, you did well, so dont think you can improve it much at all.. The colours here are natural, as one would see it.

Again well presented image.

Cheers my friend.
Dawn.

Hoi Hans,

Wat een prachtig uitzicht op het Engelse landschap en met die wolken in de verte heeft het toch wel een erg aparte sfeer.
Erg mooi vastgelegd, bedankt!

Groetjes, Nel

Hi Hans so beautiful like the english landscape think that i was cycling there 20 years ago see the note back to my last photo cheers Shimon

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ............. !

Nogmaals hallo Hans,
TFS & groeten,
Erik
