This is a macro close up of an established blue iris in my garden.
I'm never too sure about how to frame close ups to get the best effect and I'd very much welcome some feedback / suggestions.

Hi Jean
Good macro close up with great colours. However the depth of fiels can be improved if you try to shoot around f8. Try different apperture your self. At small apperture say f22 and over the DOF is great but you do loose sharpness and the bacgground is sharp, at f2.8 your have shallow DOF and blur background as above. I am not expert and I am learning my self. Hope this helps
Best regards
Balwant
Jean,
Hey, nice photo. The centre of the flower and the rain drops come out really well. Shame about the blurring of the petals that come closer to the lens.
Give the tips that Balwant suggests a go... I can't add anymore, my camera doesn't let me do any of that!!!
Richard.
