This is another shot of the ruined West Pier at Brighton. Earlier in the week I posted the main part of the pier at sunset.

Here you are seeing where the pier connected to the land and is shot at sunrise (before I started work for the day). The run was rising in the opposite direction behind the Palace Pier (which is still in use today) and I showed that in my first Brighton post. I then turned the camera round to capture this scene with the subtle pink tones with the dark sky.

I was using an ND Grad filter to balance the bright sky and the dark FG

Hi Karan, a very good shot but the foreground would take less place because is distracting from the principal subject. Thanks for sharing!
jas

i like very much the mood with the brown tone.

hi,

tend to agree with jafsc,

my first impression was actually on the small wave rather than the broken bridge...nonetheless, a nice one though..

Ciao Karan, wonderful sea landscape with lovely colors, very well done, have a nice week end, ciao Silvio

The colours caught my eye. Intersting composition. I like the wave and texture differences in the front. I don't agree that it distracts. to me it adds to the atmosphere.

Hello Karan,
You do very nice landscape! Really, this is another beautiful one from this place. Exposure, colors, details and composition are great! Well done again!

Surprising reality all over the scene, but mainly in the clarity of sands and water. Splendid.

belle capture, belles couleurs du ciel et beaux mouvements de la mer
bravo

Good shot, excellent color, with good composition. Interesting subject. I would straighten the horizon though.

TFS,
David

Shame to see the broken pier in this shot. The composition is good with so much detail in the foreground. Very good sunrise mood.

Hi Karan,

Lovely subtle, soft light and nice wave movement.

Are you sure you did any work when you were there.

Keep up the good work.
Douglas

Well seen and framed; good exposure but the skyline is inclined.

Hi Karan,
I can not decide which part of this picture I like best, the gentle waves breaking on the sand or the broken pier with the darkening sky. All in all a great shot. A little bit of advice if I may, when posting photos in portrait orientation (vertical ones like this), it is better to make the height around 600 pixals. That way you can view the full image on a 17 inch monitor with out scrolling up and down. I am assuming that 17 inch is the most common monitor size in the world these days.

Thank you very much for your kind words for my picture "Goodbye, Little Friend".

sea wave portion balance with the sysmetric elevation view of bridge. a very interesting creative pov that is.

Good exposure time Karen. Nice image with a beautiful sky.
Best wishes Mark

Pt later :)

Hi Karan,
I love this composition. Nice focus on the foreground emphasizing the texture of the sand and wave. The dangling thing in the pier looks treacherous. Lovely sunrise colors. Greetings! Danilo

Hi Karan
very nice water shot.. gentle waves and the sky is amazing

Tricia

Hi Karan.

Amazing shot with a beautiful light.

Daniel.

What a beautiful shot, the colors are soft and inviting, I am a sucker for a beach. I love to walk along and listen to the water lap at the shoreline. Interesting framework to the collapsed bridge. Too bad it gave out. Well composed shot also.

Hi Karan,
This is just awesome. The overall brightness is really attractive to the composition and mood. I read some of the comments on this photo. I totally disagree with those who wrote that the FG is distracting. The FG is perfect, it leads my eye into the photo toward the pier. The small roling wave is just perfect, since it acts like a leadline.
Wonderful work on the exposure and the colors. But a pity about the horizon.
TFS,
Niek

P.S. What Grd ND filter did you use?

You are more outdoors nowadays. :-)

ps pts pater..

Hello Karan,
Waht first comes to my mind is, this looks like dangerous!
The birds seem to enjoy the situation however, hopefully they will not be joined by some kids...
Lovely textures in the water, the diagonal surf is a most attractive element!

Hi Karan,
I really love this shot, nice golden tones and pretty sharp.
Try a smaller f/stop and focus on infinity with the lens in manual focus, you will get an even sharper image. The horizon appears tilted as well.
Thanks,
b.

Oops, broken bridge....

Karen, your shot has got wonderful composition, colors. Well done. :) Vandana

Saludos Karan
