[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Although common in much of Britain, bluebells are rare in the rest of Europe and absent from the rest of the world. This picture was taken not far from my house in a lovely wood.
The bluebell is a bulbous plant abundant in woods, hedgerows, and meadows adjoining woods. It thrives in good soil with partial shade.
Carpets of spring-flowering English bluebells, Endymion nonscripta, are a familiar sight throughout mainland Britain, from Cape Wrath on the north coast of Scotland to Land’s End in Cornwall. The symbol of the Botanical Society of the British Isles, they thrive in damp conditions. The theft of bluebell bulbs from their native woodlands has become an increasing problem in recent years.

hi Michael,
brilliant effect. The composition and view is well balanced by the tree in the foreground to the left. Good overlapping.

Well done.
Regards, Daniel

wow, so envious!! I have been trying to capture some bluebells and failed miserably!! this is amazing, love the light and the soft green leaves ont he trees!! only suggestions to make is, I personally would change colour of the font to either more green or more the blue of the bluebells, or just keep it neutral black or gray. thanks for sharing!!!

A lovely postcard image, Michael!
The frame goes so weel with these beautiful flowers!
Like the light and shadow game:)

thanks and have a nice weekend, Karina:)

Hi Michael,
This must have been a beautiful place to walk around. The carpet of bluebells is just amazing. The colors and light are beautiful, but I would have tried to get a smaller aperture for more depth and detials.
TFS,
Niek

Beautiful scene. Reminds me of when I was a child and used to pick these flowers. I wouldn't do that today though as I know better. The colours are awesome. Well done.

Ah I love bluebell woods. Lovely colours and use of light. I can almost smell the bluebells

I like this, it's good, sharp and clear. I might've hunkered down for a 1/3 shot either way (the trees or the bluebells). I'd like to see a macro of one of them if you get the chance to shoot one.

Same problem here with people 'relocating' wild strains. They usually are genetically altered for a particular area and moving them around oftentimes destroys them. I wonder why gardeners aren't propagating them indoors if people want the bulbs?

Not only it is a magnificent photo, but your title is a perfect match!
Beautiful colors, excellent exposure, and very nice presentation.

Vassilis

Hello Michael !

This is a true beauty. Fantasy land , Dream land , Fairy Tail mood. Loks like it is coming straight from an Child illustration book.
Superbly captured and presented. The mask used here enhanced very well the mood.
Congratulations !
Robert

Wonderful MIchael. My bluebells are flowering now, not an abundant carpet like this but scattered clumps throughout the garden. Interesting to note that some deduct points because they don't like vignette, in this case ideally suited. TFS,
David
