[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This weekend is the best time to shoot the blue carpet of Bluebells that cover most of the UK. Although common in much of Britain, bluebells are rare in the rest of Europe and absent from the rest of the world. This picture was taken not far from my house in a lovely wood.
The bluebell is a bulbous plant abundant in woods, hedgerows, and meadows adjoining woods. It thrives in good soil with partial shade.
Carpets of spring-flowering English bluebells, Endymion nonscripta, are a familiar sight throughout mainland Britain, from Cape Wrath on the north coast of Scotland to Land’s End in Cornwall. The symbol of the Botanical Society of the British Isles, they thrive in damp conditions. The theft of bluebell bulbs from their native woodlands has become an increasing problem in recent years.

Very nice, the path adds depth, the trees add texture and patter... and the bluebells add colour. Nice one.

This is such a lovely shot Michael,the path invites us into your wood.
I like the straight trunks of the trees with just that touch of green where the leaves are breaking bud.But the star of your shot is the intense blue carpet of bluebells!
