I'm not very good at interior shots (I prefer to be outside!) so every now and then I like to have a go at them and practice. A good place to do this is Chichester Cathedral. It is not an easy place as there are bright spots and dark shadows. There are also lots of different angles and lines. I know there are problems with this shot but I thought I would show my attempt

Hi Karan,

I like this one you have used the lines well to draw the eye too that colourful picture at the back. Well balanced considering the difficult lighting condtions.

Cheers
Tom

Hi Karan,
Excellent perspective image, Perfect lighting and great colours. Although you write y'r not to good in interior shots, this image shows the opposite, a superb capture of the interior of this onderfull cathedral. A fine posting my dear!

Hi Karan:
You say that you are not very good... but in this one you are excellent...
Most excellent composition with lighting!!!
David

there are no problems, Karan, except that the shot is not sharp. I like the coloring and the DOF, which is a must with these long, extended English cathedrals. go back and try again with a tripod and long exposure. Good effort.

Hi Karan

I like this and think you have taken a good picture. The colours have come out well with the difference between the dark of the wood and the light of the ceiling.

I especially love the orange "glow" at the end.

Karen

Nicely captured Karan. Good deep DOF, with great warm lighting. Nice WB and exposure. Excellent composition.

David

Lovley place. I like the depth you got here. Yes maybe a bit sharper but it is still very good. Great atmosphere.

Interesting shot, following are my thoughts on it:
- there is a good emphasis on the corridor like passage way
- you should have taken care to align the horizontals/verticals
- the verticalness of the Gothic style is lost in the horizontal composition. But it may be the intent of the picture was different.

Hello Karan,
Fantastic photo. And you say you're not good in interiors?
The light, the colours, the detail, the shadows, the depht are simply amazing. Excelent work, I love it.
My regards, jmb

Hi Karan,

beautiful architecture, excellent details and perspective.

Lovely exposure here to get such warm tones. With the POV, sharp details and colours I can't see that your inside photo's are worse than your great outside photo's.

I find the architesture intriguing as I keep looking at it thinking "this should be symmetrical" and then finding the differences. To sooth my troubled mind I've created a little workshop.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Karan,
A good shot, showing a nice range of colors and lighting. Tough conditions, and I haven't been successful at this POV in a cathedral (yet), but I've seen a friend do very well by placing the camera on the floor.
Nice work, and Happy Easter,
Karen

Hello Karan,
I think you do a fine job here, as this kind of interior is among the most difficult one can take on!
Fine lines and delicate colours, and the details are well recorded...
A strong sense of depth and a well balanced composition!
