This is actually the same photo but with one shot rotated over 180 degrees. To me this appears to be an optical illusion with one ring of this ammonite appearing to go inwards and the rotated version coming outwards. The longer I stare at it the more it changes. I just wondered what you saw whilst staring at this.

Interesting effect. It looks like it was flipped over, not rotated. Nicely presented.

Hi Karan,

Creatively done to show us the optical illusion, I like your idea.

TFS,
Hong

Hi Karan,
Excellent presentation of an optical illusion. Except from this idea also well oresented in a nice frame and the images itself are fine, might be improved with a increased DOF. Anyhow, magnificent posting my dear Karan!

N.B.: Do you live in Crawley, near Gatwick Airport?

Nice example of an effect related to the way our mind works in perceiving the 3D sensation out of the 2D picture. As the default hipothesis is that both images are viewed from above, the one on the right appears to be negative. But the moment you think of them as seen from below (like a ceiling) things change. The fossil in itself is nice too.

Tibi

Hi Karan,
I also see optical illusion as I stare at it. Details and texture are nice. Best wishes, Danilo

Hi karan, very nice interesting effect.good compo and details.excellent sharpness.TFS.
Greetings.

Hi karan,
This is really freaky. How in the ... did you manage to get this result? It almost looks like they are a cast where the original can fit into. Really a strange but wonderful result. The longer I look at it the more I get confused.
TFS,
Niek

P.S. technically a perfect macro with supereb details.

Hi Karan..

I'm interested how long it tooks to you to observe this transformation..

The realisation of the idea 10 points..
The macro sharpness 10 points..
The border would be more gentle..in my opinion 8 points

Congratulations..

Interesting effect - when I first saw it I assumed one part was the ammonite and one part the impression in the rock it came out of. Lovely crisp details and good presentation
Thanks for sharing

It is an excellent optical illusion. I almost broke my neck trying to see the photos upside down to check the effect.Technically, it is a great macro, full of details. BRAVO. TFS
