[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I saw this bud being trashed by wind and rain, so I went and rescued it, soon it thrived and slightly unfurled, I eternalized it ( in the studio, in my usual way, painting with light...) and now the flower delicately perfumes our living room.

Peonies are actually very easy to grow; once established they can tolerate drought and suffer from very few diseases.

Beautiful capture of one of my favourite garden flowers. I too rescued them from the wind. Never have come up with such a stunning image as this one, mind.
Beautiful lighting, composition and sharpness.
The DOF and soft colouring against the black BG is so effective.

Excellent work, as always, Magda. The peony is beautifully featured and preserved in this portrait, with your trademark use of light and background and sense of composition.

On another note, I remember the peonies in my mother's garden suffering only from ants:) Their lovely fragrance remained unaffected, happily.

I like the way you play with light and shadow so that the flower slowly disappears from view.
Fine positing and I do hope you'll consider coming back on more regular basis.

Lighting is the most important factor in photography. Being able to bring depth to colour from the control on light.
