dear Sue,
the rose has romantic ambience originally,
and you enhance it uniquely and make another your feeling in this picture.
in my feeling, that effect is caused by not sharp/blur but light/shadow.
the contrast between shining of a little overexposed petals and back underexposed dark shadow makes the romantic air.
