Last in the 'Jazz series'. The lighting used was one snoot.

YES!!! The best one yet my friend. Its dark and mysterious, it feels like im watching a movie from the 40's. I can almost feel like im in the jazz club, watching her in a smokey room. Awesome shot! Though, I am very partial to b&w. Excellent work!

that's a mysterious shot, really good.

Martin, I do not think you should bother too much about some comments, it is a free world and good work will allways attract votes, critiques, etc. If someone does not wish to make critiques that's it, you cannot force anyone to something that does not feel necessary to do or enjoy.

However, if you want to critique a picture I just placed one for you here here http://www.treklens.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=412007 (don't know how to insert the link) :)).

Hi Martin,

The title makes me think of a smoky club in the 40's or 50's and the curls in her hair, the microphone and the moody black and white enhances that atmosphere even further.
I can not really critique, I just started to think how to do portraits.
When you have time, be my guest and feel free critique my latest portrait.

Howdy Martin!
Amazing b/w effect. Good light and contrast. Wonderful capture. Beautiful girl. Original picture.
Regards!

The black and white is perfect. I liked your color shots a lot, but this is wonderful!

I think the best thing about this is the mood it portrays and sets; all kinds of emotions at once. wistful, mysterious, sadness and isolation.
A 2D image is capable of doing that when all the technical aspects, perspective, lighting, focus and color all come together as they have here, in my opinion.
Very nice work,
Thanks for sharing,

This one is good, and it's my favourite from the series. Nice profile shot, beautiful textures. Your model has terrific presence.

Personally I find the comp a little tight at the top, I understand that the eye should be placed in a hot zone of the frame, hence your composition, but it cuts a little abruptly for my taste.

In every other respect though it works well. Cool microphone.

This is a superb shot! Wow, I much appreciate your work. You have access to fine model too! Very professional! The lightning is extremely good! The way she holds the mic is great! Did you use a softbox on top of her with a small lamp behind ? Wow, great job!! TKS for Sharing!
