A superb example of this nicely coloured Lupin. My gran always had lots of these growing in her garden in various colours. Did you know however that the seed pods can be deadly poisonus?

The portrait mode of course suits this shape perfectly and your wide black frame enhaces the image and brings a balanced feel to the shot.

I have to say I'm not a big fan of flower shots - but having scrolled through quite a few today, this one stands out for its excellent colour balance, sharpness and composition - all three of which are lacking in many.

Hi Silke,
A fine capture of this lupine, a flower from my youth, which I could find everywere in the areas I grew up. Good memories of the lupin, wonderful captured although I have the impression it's a tad to bright. Anyway the black frame creates the perfect presentation!

This is a beautiful photos of the Lupin Silke. We only have the yellow ones growing up here, but down in our colder areas in the South Island they grow in multiple colours - I love them too.

It they grow wild - you should try and get some of their seeds.

I do like the colours here, and the lighting on the flower emphasises its beauty and colours.

I prefer them in the wild Silke or on a grain farm, they can be so invasive. Good natural colour and a lovely light with the vertical format most suitable. Oddly enough the growing lupin is poisonous to sheep but they love the resulting seed.
