Nunney Castle

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| If it hadn't been for the diesel shunter in the background, the British Railways branding on the tender, and the absence of a flat cap on the driver's head (!), I'd like to think that this could have been taken during the 1920s. Castle class locmotives were designed, and mostly built, by the Great Western Railway. Some were built in the first few years of British Railways. This example (Nunney Castle) I believe was built by the GWR sometime in the 1930s. |
