I begin my Irish series with some photos from Northern Ireland. Belfast Wheel (similarly to London Eye) gives an excellent opportunity for sightseeing, the whole capital of Northern Ireland and its surroundings can be seen very well from up above.

No significant PP work, only cropping, sharpening and frame.

Some detailed information about the Wheel from Wikipedia:

The Belfast Wheel is a 60m viewing wheel located in the centre of Belfast, Northern Ireland, in the grounds on the east side of Belfast City Hall. It opened in November 2007. Views right across Belfast and Belfast Lough can be seen from the wheel. The Wheel is owned and operated by World Tourist Attractions and was brought to Belfast in partnership with Belfast City Council and the Department for Social Development.
The Belfast Wheel operates seven days a week and has 42 fully enclosed, climate controlled capsules which rise to a height of almost 60 metres, on an approximately 13 minute trip. A VIP capsule with DVD, glass floor and champagne on ice is also available. In May 2009, Belfast City Council voted to keep the big wheel on site for a further two years from 1 September 2009. Subsequently, the Belfast Titanic Society objected to plans for the Belfast Wheel to remain at its current location because it obscures a memorial to the victims of the Titanic disaster. The big wheel structure sits around and on top of the memorial and the Society has proposed that the memorial be relocated to the north eastern corner of the City Hall grounds.

Hello Kristof! Wonderful wheel, amazing tower. Good POV and capture. Original composition. Well done!

Hi Kristof,
A fine choice for the POV! It all looks clear and well exposed, the wheel stands out wonderfully against the blue sky. The colours look nice and natural. Original presentation too, an overall great upload.

TFS,
Scott.

Good morning Kristof,

yeeeey, finally we get to see your Ireland series. :) Yeah, Belfast Wheel really reminds me of the London Eye...did you take a ride on this one or did you only observe it from the ground?

No significant PP work really paid off this time, because this photo looks really good. Cropping, compo, sharpness and colours are great. Good work, Kristof. I am looking forward to tomorrow...to see what you have prepared for us.

Have a nice day,

Stasa

Hi Kristof

Lol at the stickytape effect, in the top left & bottom right corners. Good sharpness & the ferris wheel is well posiotioned in the frame. Excellent colour & framing. Tfs!

hi kristof
well shot, rather than taking in the whole wheel, this shows its size towering over the city hall building.great sky and detail.

jimmy

Hi Kristof,
It seems these wheels can now be found all over the world. I like your photo because the contrast between old and new. The mid day light is perfectly controlled and the colors look very real. A good composition and even with F/4 good details in the entire photo.

Niek

Hi Kristof,

Nice POV here, I like the prespective provided by the tower (dome?) to the right. Very sharp, excellent DOF and nice colors. The scrapbook framing suits the shot well.

Hi Kristof, the mixing of the new with the old,the new tends to take some of the beauty & history from the old, perhaps the society is right in wanting it moved for more than that reson, which is a good one.
I like your composition, with the wheel rising above the trees & the buildings, great for scale. Sharp details & I like your frame in the form of a postcard from Ireland.Well seen & captured.

Ron

Good placement of the wheel within the frame here Kristof - maybe a slight clash with the building to its right, perhaps a couple of steps to your left would have created a separation that improved the POV? Good delivery in terms of lighting and metering.
Rew

Nice combination I didnt know that Belfast had a wheel like the London eye. Tfs warm regards

I really like the composition. The colors and detail are very good. Nice pov. An interesting post. TFS

Hello Kristof,
In with the new and out with the old by your note. The image is well captured as the light and perspective are excellent. It is sad that there is not a way to keep the old historical interests from disappearing from around the world...

Hello Kristof

A beautiful result very great for my eyes.
I like this sky and the happy mood of this photo.

Well done

Bonjour Kristof,
Nice point of view of the Belfast wheel,
Excellent presentation and composition.
Nicely framed and great details.
compliments, bonne journée
Michel

Nice view, good sharpness.. Pity the lens isn't wider as the building at right seems to be a little 'chopped off' if you know what I mean!!
The frame helps to make the image stand out.
