A corn poppy bud about to burst into flower. In this form it looks alien and menacing.

This photograph was taken at Mount Stewart, a National Trust property between Newtownards and Greyabbey, it is the location of a large country house, grounds and a walled garden.

hello Stephen,
lovely and sharp this is an interesting take on a photograph of a poppy. Soon the petals will open and you may get a shot of the spiky jacket sitting atop the petal, almost like a hat.
A favourite flower of mine.
