[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Although uncertain it is estimated that Ballycopeland windmill was built around the 1780s or 90s, appearing on the first Ordnance Survey maps of the area in 1830s. The Mill is of the tower type with a mobile cap this is moved by a fantail in order to keep the sales facing the prevailing wind. It has two entrance doors a west door to allow access should the main east door be blocked by the sails.
Taken with a polarising filter which blackened the dark blue sky, levels and a slight tightening of the perspective to balance the shadow with the blade to which the windmill sail is attached.
