Just experimenting here with textures and mapping. Still trying, so many things to do, so little time!

I think this is a great portrait to use that sort of texture on. I love the texture when it maps on in black. However, I find red texture to be too much... whichis weird because the idea of red cracks is good - like the flesh that would be underneath. I just find it visually overwhelming. Did you add texture in two layers? Maybe you could desaturate the texture before applying it?

Anyway, a cool portrait to work with and the texture IS effective.

Hi Craig
Very strong if quite disturbing image, it certainly makes you look

Hello Craig,

Your experiment turned to be good. Keep experimenting:)

Jorbe

Great composition, Craig! I like it a lot! Your pp-work here is very impressive. Color and detail are very good. Lighting and exposure are well managed. The dark background is transitioning softly around the face, but it's abrupt at the neck, which is minor.
TFS and keep experimenting!
Freddie :)

This is a cracking portrait Craig (excuse the pun), love the low key ones. The effect works well here too adding extra interest to the shot.
