A view from Brodick Bay across Merkland Wood towards Goatfell, one of the 4 'Corbetts' on the Isle of Arran. The origin of the name 'Goat Fell' is taken either from the Norse 'geita' for goat, and 'field' for mountain or fell, or the Gaelic 'Gaoithbheinn' - Mountain of the Wind. With the sky changing and a storm coming in 'Mountain of the Wind' is probably more appropriate.
Shot in B&W mode. Strightened, levels. |

Hi Stepehen, welcome to TL at first. At 2nd: Great shot. Do like the interplay of lights and shadows on the slopes here as well as the featherd cloud announcing a change of weather. Which program do you use for post-processing? The image could take some more contrasts in my opinion, maybe by using the red channel, but that's personal.
Regardless, well done.
Thanks for sharing and keep on shooting,
Hauke
Hello Stephen,
This beautiful scenery reminds me the Mourn Mountains in Down ( Northern Ireland ). Great atmosphere.
I like this one in B&W - makes it dramatic!
The scale in the shot is cool too - the mountain is itself a huge thing - and yet it is dwarfed by the giant cloud!!
Nice composition - giving the cloud plenty of room!
