[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This shot was taken on one of annual pilgrimages to Scotland. Again it was scanned from a transparency. I found that even the rain and cloud didnt spoil the beauty but simply gave it character. I am fairly sure this shot was taken on Loch Lomond. I dont think many tourists came this way because it was a minor road and ended at the Loch. It was one of those days when i got a little wet in the notor bike.
Traditionally a boundary of Stirlingshire and Dunbartonshire, Loch Lomond is located in the current council areas of Stirling, Argyll and Bute, and West Dunbartonshire, and its southern shores lie approximately 23 kilometres (14 mi) north of Glasgow, the country's largest city.

Loch Lomond is now part of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Ben Lomond is on the eastern shore: 974 m (3,195 ft) in height and the most southerly of the Scottish Munro peaks. A 2005 poll of Radio Times readers named Loch Lomond as the 6th greatest natural wonder in Britain.[3]

The main arterial route along the loch is the A82 road which runs the length of its western shore. For a long time this was a notorious bottleneck, with the route clogged with tourists during the summer months. It was upgraded in the 1980s and 1990s, although the stretch north of Tarbet remains unimproved.

Morning David -

I think you are right that the weather adds character to this photograph. The boats in the foreground lead my eyes to the center of the loch, but when I get there I find myself wishing for a bit more foreground. It's still a nice image and your note adds much to the whole experience.

Thanks,

Hi David,

This a great shot and nice pov the darkness of the gives it a moody feel and is probably due to the inclement weather we scots have. The boats nicely pull the eye into the photo my only hard critique is why the dark border a light one would have been better imho.

Regards
Jon

Hi David:

Beautiful place.
Nice composition and POV.
I was scanning some old slides and found out that the colors may have changed.
I did a correction on this one, see if it is right.

Regards,
Jafar

hi David

I visited Glasgow once and they were whitewashing the dirty walls in the city. But I went to Botanical Garden and it was a splendid place. I know many places I had not seen in Glasgow, including this one of the nice countryside scenery.

Very well captured and composed view. I think the mood of the wet day is perfectly chosen for this shot. Good scan quality.

tfs, bill
