i am just back from a journey to heaven.
my good freind, caledonia, took me to his favourite places in scotland. we took hundreds of shots at many sites.
mere words cannot explain how i feel after visiting these wonderful, awe inspiring places.

i must thank douglas for taking me and for his patience.

this is a 3 image hdr.

Very nice work on the HDR here. It keeps the dynamic range but restrains all elements of the shot enough so that nothing is under- or over-exposed.

A few places where the merging is fairly visible, though - for example, the bank of grass centre left, where the shadows are quite deep at the top but greatly lifted towards the bottom.

Great shot though, eyecatching and certainly a great advertisement for he beauty of Scotland.

Hi Brian,
good control of the HDR process with the dark sky and the lighter greens. Nice low PoV and good detail in the rocks. The view looks familiar must have been one of Douglas' earlier shots
cheers

Hi Brian

Passed by this way myself at the weekend but never got a single shot due to the weather, looks like you had a great day out.
Beautiful shot of this great area, must get up there again soon.

I don't care if this is an HDR or if it wasn't, I really like the result. I think this image is vibrant & well composed,I like how the river rocks, lead the eye right into & up to the mountain. I think this image shows off the ruggedness & beauty of the Scottish scenery.

Hi Brian,
Yes, this is heaven. I never got the right light to capture this famous mountain but drove by it four times. I hope to see many more photos from this awesome place. I am not a huge fan of HDR, but when it is done with such great care and with the idea of keeping it natural, I can appreciate the technique. I really like the contrast in the grass and ferns half way in the composition and the great clarity in the water and rocks. There is this small odd line along the left edge of the mountain that you might want to touch up a little.
TFS,
Niek
