[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My garden in summer has pots filled with pansies, viola, busy lizzies, nasturtium, sweet pea, roses and of course a pot or two of daisies.I feel that the daisy is a happy flower. This looked nice in colour ( a pale violet daisy in a blue pot) but when I changed mode to lab color to sharpen I quite liked the look of the black and white image that you get before you change back again to RGB. As I haven't posted many (if any) B & W images before I thought I would try this for once.
other techie stuff: converted from RAW.Slight S curve, sharpen USM 101 and then sharpen more. Macro lens

Lovely composition Bev and great in B/W.

Regards Mark :)

these flowers do make good bl/wh images, the conversion has made some noise in the background however unless you were going for the grainy look. you are lucky to lots of flower subjects to pose for you. i have to keep going to my garden center for mine. lol sue

Hi Bev,

Nice B&W image. I like the unique composition and grainy texture. Nicely executed:)

Hello Bev,

What an interesting experiment!
I just love the artistic presentation you have achieved here. I think you are getter much stronger in this area.
I'm afraid, I don't like the noise. I think it detracts from the beauty of the flower.

I'm always reticent about altering people's shots but I have done a w/s without the noise. What do you think?

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Very eye-catching in B&W Bev.
How pretty your garden must look with all those flowers out in bloom.
And I agree with you about this daisy - I wouldn't have picked it for a white one. And the BG daisies look really good too.
Well done
Janice

Very artistic shot - I like the b&w conversion and the grainy feel that you've got.
Thanks for sharing
Mark
