A bee visits a plant called catmint (nepeta) in my garden, sucking out its sweetness to make honey. I have planted up my garden to attract wildlife. Here is a list of other plants that attract insects: foxglove (digitalis), sedum spectabile, echinops bannaticusalbus, scabious goldingensis, monarde prarie night, knautia macedonia pink, verbena bonariensa, astrantia major bucklan, echinacea purpurea and of course buddlea. My favourite is the sedum as it is lovely to see them covered by butterflies, although it is too early in the summer season for that.I visited my favourite garden nursery for my plants.
here is the owner who told me he likes to photograph birds and butterflies. |

Hello Bev,
Some lovely colours, good bokeh, and a fine composition, but: Oh Dear, Bev! - the critical part of the image is very blurred from that 1/20 sec [hand held?] exposure.
It's amazing how much flowers move, even in the slightest breeze, when you are trying to photograph them close up, let alone bees.
Allowing for the need to get good bokeh, by using wide aperture, I suppose the answer is to bump up the ISO to shorten the exposure, and use a tripod.
I've tried a WS to see if a lot of sharpening would help, but it only does a little.
Regards,
Peter.
Hi bev,

HI Bev
Although I love the composition, I have to agree with graffer -- the 1/20 sec exposure is just a little too slow.
Great

Hello Bev
I think the other members already you
they gave clues and I am sure that were constructive.
I received many and I also gave several along these
times, but I still continue asking if he has doubts.
I like colors, of the post, your bee is beautiful
and your blurry Bg is wonderful.
Maybe the sharpness has lacked, but it doesn't worry you,
the hunt and in the hour you will know how to give the shot!
A good tripod helps a lot!
Great hug!
