A frosty day, my contribution to the Happy Bokeh Wednesday theme
ps That's not a fence post but a Cadbury's flake just dipped in icecream and ready to be eaten by the BFG.

Nice! I like the use here of the DOF - shallow, but not so shallow that we can't recognise and appreciate the scene.

Well composed.

Excellent contribution here Bev - the exposure is perfect and the narrow DOF (obviously for this theme) works very well. If anything I would either have panned down very slightly or cropped some of the sky..

Hello, Bev. Or is it Sophie?

And that's not a Cadbury's flake, it's a snozcumber disguised as one, you silly girl! And the background is out-of-focus because you've had too much frobscottle and you've been whizpopping!

So who reads Roald Dahl to her grandson then? And who enjoys the stories more than he does, eh? Great stuff.

Anyway, you took a picture. Very nice. It is a good one too and the wide aperture of f/3.5 has thrown the background nicely out-of-focus to provide a great bokeh. There seems to be just a little noise or graininess on the fencepost itself - was the original a little underexposed?

As I said to Peter (graffer), I did notice this HBW theme a few weeks ago and then promptly forgot about it. I must try to look out some pikkies for Wednesdays.

Thanks for this one, Bev.

Best Wishes,

John.

Hello Bev,

A real sense of winter cold in the colours of this picture.

I particularly like the contrast of the sharpness - in both senses of the word - of the barbed wire and the post, with the OOF background.

The low sun has also thrown the graininess of the wood of the post into sharp relief, and the frosty capping neatly tops it off.

Nice one!

Regards,

Peter.

Brr...! It feels cold, Bev !
A masterly composition and sharp details where needed.
You may have invented a new confectionary with a frosted flake bar!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello,

très original ton image, ce givre au sommet du poteu de la barrière, très bien vu, avec le flou à l'arrière, superbe ensemble.

Bravo et amitié
