[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The sun tries hard to break through the fog on this frosty morning. It was a hard frost and the frost stayed all day. The following morning there was frost upon frost and the haw frost was an inch thick as it balanced on the branches of the trees, sketched a thousand cobwebs and sent showers of glistening powder earthwards like snowstorms for the fairies and elves....Mmmm, well I am a children's librarian so what can you expect?! :))

A beautiful view Bev! I really love mornings like this and I always go out early to try and shoot the best views!
Lovely how you capture the cold and the warm sunlight at the same time.

Cheers,
Anneke

Hi Bev

Like the light of the sun trying to break through, you can almost feel the cold of this one.
I would have cloned or cropped it to remove the small piece of the fence on the right.

Regards Derek

Hello Bev,

Wot! - no sheep!

The various diagonal lines in the image, from the overhead electricity wires, and the slightly tumbledown fences, help to break up the mistiness - the further fence giving a strong sense of perspective as it disappears into the fog.

You can feel the bite in the air just by looking at this, but hopefully the sun is just about to break through.

A nicely balanced composition, and a fine winter picture.

Regards,

Peter.

Hello Bev,

An occasion when the telelgraph pole should not be cloned out!
I do like the atmosphere that you have captured with this series of shots. I can almost feel the cold and sense the sun's efforts!
The diagonal fence in the f/g adds interest and improves the composition: a good inclusion.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Thanks for the comments on 'Tracks in the Snow'. Mmm, it would have been a good curve!

Hi Bev,

That winter-morning sky is really beautiful.
Must be the best time of day to get that frosty atmosphere in a picture.
