[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Frost shows us the magical work carried out by spiders. Webs are all around us without us noticing. The frost freeze frames their wondrous work. This image, because of the victorian looking stonework and metal railings makes me think of the English author Charles Dickens and especially his book A Christmas Carol that I enjoyed reading at Christmas time as a child.
I have included another spiders web masterpiece as a workshop for you to sdmire (the work of the spider, not the photographer!).
Here are some magical

spirographs

Hi Bev,
To see the height of the web, this is giant spider! What a great work spider and frost did here! This photo would make a very good cover of novel with a worrying suspense!
Very nicely composed with natural colors. I like it much! Annie

Hi Bev.

The idea is good but the picture very much out of focus. So we can't really appreciate the spiders' work

Pascal-Eric.

Very nice shot, interesting.

Hello Bev,the title is very descriptive;the frost really shows off the mastery of the spiders talents.
I like the different elements in the composition, and the different colours.
Maybe it could benefit from some sharpening but your intentions are clear.
I agree with Annie, it would be a great book cover.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
All the best Jean.

Terrific subject, beautifully composed too.

I disagree with Pascal-Eric, I don't think the focus is the issue - but at 1/4s shutter, there appears to be some camera-shake, which does take away much of the magic for me.

Nice work overall though!

Rew

Hello Bev,

I just love it when the beauty of Nature is displayed like this! What a transformation when the web is heavy with ice crystals.

I think there is a slight issue with focus and I have just done a very quick w/s with PS Elements to sharpen it. If you have a copy of this programme, I have just found that it is possible to selectively sharpen parts of your shot with a single key.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Bev
Your webs are wonderful, very much they appeal to me the ones in WS on the red background.
Anna

Hi Bev
Making photos of spider webs is always a special challenge because you must have and interesting background for the web to pop out. You must also have some mist or frost . Whithout them, they go unnoticed. I think all the conditions meet here in this photo and the atmosphere is very Dickens-like. The patina on the wall behind makes a very good background. The workshop is also very interesting.
Bravo
Seasons Greetings
Serge
