[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Took a walk along the river yesterday after an overnight fall of snow. Unfortunately the sky was very grey. Still, there is always something magical about walking through a snow covered landscape. Unfortunately the snow didn't last and it was washed away by light drizzling rain later in the day.
Upped the saturation here to bring out the colour of the leaves.

Hello Bev,a good PoV taking us through the woods.
The diagonal of the slope is always a good line in a composition.
Upping the saturation was a good idea, as the beech leaves really do stand out, great effect.
A lovely picture.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Bev,
The light touch of color makes the interest of this image giving at this naked landscape a fairy tale mood!
Good use of the path in the balanced compositon. I like the mix with B&W and sepia tones too. Bravo! Annie

Hello Bev,

The strong diagonal of the sloping ground from the bottom left to the top right, crossed by the weaker line of the right hand edge of the track, makes a very satisfying composition. The stout tree at the left is a firm anchor to the image too. I like the scatter of red leaves, and it was a good idea to emphasise them with saturation.

The track as it disappears through the trees and into the distance gives a strong lead, and a good sense of perspective.

You were lucky to get away with a handheld[?] 1/5 second exposure here - no sign of any blur. I think I would have increased the ISO, and/or opened up the aperture a bit.

Purely for my own amusement, I've tried a WS to give a variation on your excellent picture. Hope you like it!

Regards,

Peter.

Hello Bev,

This is so atmospheric with the tiny footsteps leading into the quiet wood with its hint of broze amongst the black.

The tall verticals make a good contrast with the winding path - which makes a good lead-in.

My only one little niggle, and it is little, is that the wide 'hole' (bottom left) created by the tree tends to distract from the path.
I have done a little w/s really to show you what I mean. I hope I don't offend you by messing with this otherwise lovely shot.

Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Excellent landscape from the jungle. Good depth.

Hi Bev...nice winter shot. .....great details and tones...nice light.
