I was ready with my camera early this morning but not early enough as I wanted to catch the postie coming up our path to disturb the virgin snow. He came and I took a quick shot a he retreated. poor man, he was greeted by a woman with a camera slung around her neck and must have wondered what he was letting himself in for.

Hi Bev

Nice winter shot.
Like the contrast of the bright jacket against the early morning light.

Hello, Bev.

Another of your great impromptu "people" shots! The contrast of the postman's red jacket to the almost-monochrome snowy scene is fabulous!

Lucky you too - our postman usually ends up coming after lunchtime!

Best Wishes,

John.

Wonderful, Bev!!
Incredibly good detail under the lighting conditions, very well composed and balanced and I love that BRIGHT splash of color among all the snow. Great shot! Many thanks and warmest wishes,
Shelly

Tricia

Hi Bev,

Great shot. I like the cold, cold of the snow and wintry sky. The bright jacket adds some warmth to the scene. (I'm sure you had a pot of tea too? ;D)

Hi Bev,

You must be related to Royalty if you get your mail before 10.30. I like the way the postman,s coat is so much brighter than the surrounding colours. Well done.

Regards
Jon

i like the deep orange which stands out in the blue landscape

Hello Bev,

It's very interesting how the fluorescent red of the postman's jacket has somehow sucked the light out of the surroundings to great effect here.

The contrast of the jacket with the almost monochrome rendering of the rest of the image is excellent.

I hope he doesn't turn the tables on you and catch you in your nightie!

Regards,

Peter.

Like the comntrats and good POV.
Well taken!
Regards
Syed

Hello Bev,Peter is right, the vivid red jacket stands out so brightly that all the other colours have disappeared!
I like the anonimity of the postman as he walks away.It would be interesting to have a shot of him walking towards you, just so that we could compare the impact between the two shots.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Ha, ha! Bev. I hope you were discreetly attired!

Terrific capture of a grey, winter's morning where everything (except the postie) is resting under a thick blanket of snow.

It is nicely detailed and the postman just wows with his bright coat. He makes a spectacular contrast!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

hello Bev,
great shot of the postman in the early morn light.
Well seen and captured. Lots of snow!!
Take care, Joni

I love the contrast of his high-vis jacket with the blue tone through the rest of the frame. Nice timing and a good way of showing that despite the elements the Royal Mail still delivers :-)
Thanks for sharing
Mark
