An early evening shot taken from a window in the north wall of the ruins of Hailes Castle near East Linton. The castle has some of the oldest standing stonework in Scotland, dating back to the late 13th. Century.

From here you can see the beautiful rolling countryside of East Lothian, with the River Tyne (not to be confused with the Tyne in the north of England) in the foreground. You can read more about Hailes Castle and its history here.

Shot in RAW and converted and edited in PSE6.

Bonjour John,
Superbe luminosité qui fait bien ressortir la texture de la pierre et le "relief" herbeux. Sympa avec cette perspective que nous offre le champs.
Bonne journée

Hello John,

This is a good theme.
I have a feeling that the viewpoints will be very inventive.
Your pov really makes the viewer feel that they are in an upper room, gazing out over the domain!
Good light and very nice, off-centre composition.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

I like the wide view John.
That's a lens I have yet to invest in.
great natural framing. Nice texture details in the window too. The long shadows help with mood. The rows in the BG provide more texture. Nice midtones. tFS. Karin
