[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken the same day I took the shot's of the Scottish Parliament this is near St Giles in Edinburgh just of the high street. I like the way this pathway although covered was open to daylight through the arches and although originally shot in colour decided to change to black and white.

All that has been done is conversion to black and white re-sized and sharpened hope you like it.
All c and c's welcome.

Hi Jon,
Great photo, you've given the scene a certain edge by converting it to B&W - Looks like it has a touch of sepia in there too. The curve is definitely the focal point, with it's almost illusive appearance. Superb textures and exposure, the vertical crop was a good choice in my opinion. Well captured.

TFS,
Scott.

realy like this one Jon good conversion to black and white mode i always think b/w brings out the details of the stone work better good shot a not a cigerette butt in site not like Edinburgh

Hi Jon,
I love the B&W effect on this image, nice contrasts in the shades to bring out the detail, the PoV is good and a great use of light. Cheers
Bri

Edinburgh is a rich source of beautiful architectural scenes and you have captured one of these very nicely My only criticism would be that the shot doesnt look quite level TFS
warm regards
David

Hello Jon,
Excellent shot!
Great B&W effect and oryginal POV.

Hi Jon

Like your POV here, maybe just a little rotation to the right would have stopped the window looking cut off.
Good exposure, could have been a touch sharper, probably die to some movement at 1/5 second.
Did you use a tripod for this?
