My other passion - the 18th hole at the Old Course in St Andrews. Golf has been played at St Andrews for over 600 years. King James II of Scotland banned it in 1457 because it was distracting young men from archery practice. The ban was lifted by King James IV in 1502. The original course had 22 holes but the members decided that some of the holes were too short so they combined two into one and were left with 18 holes and thats how todays standard was made.
(I shot an 88 that day which worked out at $3.50 a shot - worth every penny)

Hi Jack,
Nice photo. That building is very interesting and the green in front is great. The pole in the middle is nice.
Regards,
Aida
