Anstruther Lighthouse
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is Anstruther Lighthouse which sits at the end of the harbour wall of the little fishing village of Anstruther in the East Neuk of Fife.
Anstruther is home to the Scottish Fisheries Museum in which we spent an interesting couple of hours when we visited Anstruther this day. We had, in fact, had high hopes of sailing to the Isle of May on the "May Princess" but unfortunately the weather was too stormy and the sailing was cancelled.
We had wanted to travel to the Isle of May to capture some shots of seabirds, particularly puffins, but I came away with this shot of a lighthouse instead!
Shot in RAW using a polarising filter and converted and edited in PSE6.

Hi John,
Nice shot of the lighthouse against the vivid blue skies. Very sharp and colorful. With the whitecaps in the distance one can tell it's very windy. Is the structure to the right another, smaller light?
TFS,
Werner

Hi John
Deep blue sky + amazing depth of field in this off-center composition
The sky gave you beautiful sky in far distance, and a calm sea!

Hello John, a crystal sharp shot and well composed.
I like the way that the small post [light?] on the right echoes the lighthouse. The red of the life belt just adds that extra bit of colour complementing the blues.
Tfs, regards Jean.
