[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I found this type of moss in a patterned peat bog near Arisaig, called Blar na Caillich Buidhe. This type of mire displays parallel mud-bottomed pools with narrow intervening ridges of low relief sometimes with larger hummocks and deeper pools.

Hi, Lisa.

I presume this is that wonderful stuff called Sphagnum moss which seems to have a fanastic ability to hold water. You were probably up to your knees in peaty mud photographing this one. An interesting note and subject but it might just have been a little more interesting if it had had a little splash of colour somewhere - a little flower or a colourful lost wellie or something - it might also have given it a sense of scale too.

Interesting, all the same.

Best Wishes,

John.
