[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Inverness Castle sits on a cliff overlooking the River Ness, in Inverness, Scotland. The red sand stone structure evident today was built in 1836 by architect William Burn. It is built on the site of an 11th century defensive structure. Today, it houses Inverness Sheriff Court. There has been a castle at this site for many centuries.

My son Gregor and his band are playing at two festivals this week( GoNorth and Rockness) so my wife and I decided to got to the most accessible one at Go North, this year held at Inverness. We were only there for two nights and would have liked to stay longer.

This is the Castle at Inverness taken from over the river near the Cathedral and taken in between heavy showers but within twenty mins the rain departed and it was glorious for the rest of the day.

Hi Jon,
Beautiful shot, I visited the castle a number of years ago when I was tracing my family history. My Great Grandfather was a member of the 79th foot Cameron Highlanders stationed at Inverness, my Grandfather also served in the Camerons between the wars. This is a great shot of the castle, the red of the stone really stands out with contrasting colours of the sky and the trees. TFS.
Bri

PS - What's your lads band called?

nice shot Jon details are good as is the colours and sharpness i might have croped it down to the wall just to take the grass away but thats just my op tfs

The castle has an excellent view over the river. I can remember taking a shot from a metal bridge many years ago. Nice composition and beautiful weather. I have taken the liberty of providing a frame and hope you like
warm regards
David

Hi Jon,
Excellent shot, almost looks like an HDR. Very defined details, the natural tones are awesome too. I like the way you've composed the castle, the dramatic clouds above really add to the scene. Well captured :).

TFS,
Scott.

Wow, all these amazing old castles in your country! Some day I will visit!
Nicely composed shot with the tree on the left, the stone wall at the bottom. Great sky .. even a few bonus birds!! Great job Jonny.
Trudy
P.S. - I read your note to Bri, so checked out your sons band!! Great sound - reminded me right off the top a little of Cold Play. You must be so proud.. and rightly so!

Hi Jon,I guess it's because of its young years that it is in such great condition.Your capture cetainly makes it look very grandiose indeed. Does the high wall circle the whole of the castles grounds?Pefect POV.good details & sharpness.
