this reminds me of a song by Eric Bogle (born in peebles)
this is a 3 image hdr and is from my day out with Caledonia. i suppose you could say that we were the lads.

'Come all ye young lassies whar hae ye been
Sae sleepy and drowsy, I ken by your een
In all the wide world, you'll ne'er find a frien'
Like the lads that were reared among heather

chorus..
Awa' wi' yer satins, yer silks and yer shawls
Yer soirees and yer parties and yer elegant balls
For a dance in the barn's worth ten in the hall
Wi' the lads that were reared among heather

Tak' a walk roon yer cities, braw buildings ootside
Gaze on the splendors and the wonder with pride
Fine ships have been built, on the banks o' the Clyde
By the lads that were reared among heather

chorus.

When the queen wants some soldiers, she kens whaur to send
To the mountains and valleys, the hills and the glens
Wi' their bonnets and plaids, they're aye true tae the end
Are the lads that were reared among heather

chorus.

Now England can boast for the sweet-scented rose
And Ireland can boast for the shamrock she grows
But gi' me the land, where the clear water flows
And the mountains are covered with heather

chorus.

Nice composition with dramatic sky. The off-center placement of waterfall is great with interesting POV. Well seen.

Hi Brian,
A very good POV to cupture this landscape shot with a fabulous waterfall.
A deep DOF with a nice water flow with adequate shutter speed!
Very natural colors of the rocks and grass and a wonderful mountainscape at the BG with nice low dark clouds.
A very moody presentation, very neat!
Well done,

Francis Xavier

Hi Brian,

Excellent landscape, details of flowers and rocks are really perfect.
The waterfall is beautiful in the center of the composition,
Beautiful clarity and excellent depth.
A good Sunday.

Hi Bro,
Great capture of the Scottish landscape. Superb natural colours, great composition. Try next time to decrease the shutter speed (1 sec) to get the attractive blurred waterfall effect. Anyway, the low POV creates a fine composition. A fine peaceful place. Great stuff my friend.
Hans

Really sets a moody Scottish scene. The light is fantastic with the dark clouds glowering down upon the heather. Sharp and interesting scene.

Give me my English Rose!!

David

Nicely done once again. Dynamics and colours are well managed, composition too; and while you haven't given it the silky water effect of a long exposure, the shutter speed was enough to soften the flow.

There wis a lassie at ma secondary, bonnie besom, name o' Heather....a few o' the lads got amongst her an aw, ah can tell ye. Doubt there were ony photaes though.

Anyway, on to the photograph, my dear chap. A delightful image, well composed and the f/16 1/40 combination has led to good sharpness throughout and a locely little touch of movement in the burn. I especially lie the dark raincloud hovering ominously in the distance. Guid Scottish weather!

Lovely image again, Bri.

great hdr image, good strong colours and contrast well framed with the moody sky and the mountains and glen in the distance.
regards
jimmy

Hi Brian,

Missed this one, really sums up the day a Cracker! the colours are intense on the right side, the grasses, the heather, the sky , the smells, right that's it I am getting my gear together.

PS stop calling me Richard, I am getting a complex.
