Hi Holly,
Welcome to Treklens! Nice shot of the bright orange float. The scene itself would be beautiful and picturesque without the float, but I'm glad you included it as it's loaded with details, draws the eye into the scene.
Look forward to seeing more photos of Scotland!
thanks for sharing, Lisa

Hello Holly007,
nicely composed, the orange lifering adds interest and the colours and textures in the sky are great.
Cheers, John.
Hello, Holly.
Firstly, Welcome to TrekLens!
The more I look at this picture, the more I like it. The composition is very good with the strong lines of the beach and the wall in the foreground and the headland and the distant sea beyond. And that brightly-coloured lifebelt focuses the attention marvellously!
Unfortunately, I'm not that terribly keen on the frame - I think it's a little overdone and that it detracts from the picture itself, which is a great pity. Frames are a very contentious subject - some like them, some hate them. I think, having experimented with frames myself and been criticised pretty heavily for them, the secret is simplicity.
I've done a wee workshop for you - see what you think. I won't be offended if you think it's rubbish! I simply removed the frame and adde a simpler one. I also (sorry!) chopped out your signature but added it below with the title. I think writing on the picture spoils it a wee bit though it does make it more difficult for people wanting to steal your images off the internet!
Kind Regards,
John.
