Something completely different from me, and probably not a point scorer. However it's my experience...

T in the Park 2006 - Scotlands largest music festival took place last weekend. 60,000 people decsended on a field in Perthshire to watch their favourite bands perform.

It rained on day 1 - it was cold and miserable. The sun shone on day 2 - it was too hot in the crowds and I got sunburn.

The ground was muddy, I've never seen so many drunk people or so much rubbish littering the ground.

I saw men and women urinating in places you wouldn't believe and I got pushed, pulled, covered in mud and flying beer.

This shot was taken on day 2 as I sat on the grass and listen to a favourite band (The Editors). I was too tired to go and fight for space at the front. I rested the camera on the ground and took several shots to get the angle right. Shot with a Canon Ixus 500 borrowed from my mum (I didn't risk taking my EOS to a festival!).

Would I do a festival again? Of course, why wouldn't you!......

Certainly different. Although the sun shining into the camera rather spoils it I think.

As being better lit would make this work in black and white to differentiate the different shades.

Very interesting POV, Craig, and personally I like that this shot is breaking a few rules and is shot facing the sun as I think it gave a very interesting mood to the picture. Good capture of the rubbish & of the people listening to the band. Well done and a belated welcome to TL!
