On a Summer's Eve
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Deborah's garden has a covered decking immediately outside the back door. One side is obviously enclosed by the wall of the house, two open out onto the garden, while the fourth, the side which faces into the neighbour's garden is enclosed by a wooden concertina lattice with ivy growing up it. The sun was high enough that the roof prevented its light to shine directly into the deck, but it did shine onto the leaves growing to the outside of the lattice. I used spot metering to ensure that the camera did not expose for the whole picture, but just the brighter leaf.
I increased the colour temperature to make the picture seem warmer (the benefits of RAW) then cropped the image and applied a black frame.
I tried to convey the feel of a lazy summer's evening, with the warm glow of the leaf and the rich greenery of nature at it's most active. |

Hi David.
This need more comment. It is IMO wonderful. I've stayed a long while looking at this. So sharp elements where my eyes can stop and enjoy. I like the idea of a summer's eve.
Bravo.
Denis.
Wow. cool lighting. On the thumbnail it doesn't look that impressive but I really like the full version. Nice sharpness and DOF. Great job. JP

Very moody picture, I love the darkness and the soft green tone.
I look it with great pleasure.
Bravo
Edie
I like the dark atmosphere and dappled light in this scene. Well done.
