[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This little chap had somehow fallen from his nest in a tree by the side of the road. I thought at first that he would be terrified when I first approached, but no. He sat there unconcerned while his parents screeched in the branches above. I quickly took this picture and then carefully carried the chick to the base of the tree and left it under a hedge behind the tree. If I had left it on the road, it would have become road kill very quickly. The image had no post processing other than being cropped.

Hi,
Well spotted! Poor wee thing is so ugly that it's cute looking!
Thanks,
Dougie.

hi gordon,

absolutely phenomenal.

i can say no more than that.
Brian

Aww! So ugly it's cute indeed! I like the monochromatic nature of the photo - seems to reflect the poor little guy's predicament. Good choice of square crop.

TFS,

Cadi

Its so small this must be a macro shot. well done you done your good deed for the day. Hopefully its parents will be able to care for it and it wont be approached by any cats.
Good dof

Hi Gordon,

I think Dougie J is right about it being an ugly looking chick and I hope that it survived. Very nice macro work good strong colours and sharp details well done.

Regards
Jon

superb close op of this little bird. focus, framing and details are stunning

Nice frame filling image, very impressive sharpness here.

The talons appear almost to be able to walk off the image :-)

Great depth of field, the way the head stands out against the grey background.
